A Family Home
Since 1887, the Hôtel des Barrages has watched over the heart of Northern Aveyron. A family home passed down through generations, it has witnessed more than a century of history, travelers, and changing seasons. Here, a certain Aveyron way of life is cultivated: a simple and warm welcome, and a taste for authentic things.
Today, the hotel begins a new chapter in its history. While preserving the soul and character that define it, it is reinventing itself to combine the warmth of tradition with the comforts of modern times. The establishment features 12 rooms, a bar and restaurant, a swimming pool, a 2,000 m² park with a terrace, and ample parking.
In the heart of the Truyère
Between the wild gorges of the Truyère and the wide-open landscapes of the Aubrac, Hôtel des Barrages enjoys one of the most beautiful settings in northern Aveyron. A land of unspoilt nature and lakes shaped by the region’s dams.
An authentic place where you can rediscover the art of taking your time.

OUR HERITAGE
A story of tradition and modernity that is intertwined with that of its valley.

Sarrans Dams
From 1932 onwards, the construction of the Sarrans dam on the Truyère, one of the largest in France at the time, permanently transformed the Aubrac and Carladez regions.
Other projects would follow: Montézic, La Selve. While entire generations had left this land in northern Aveyron, unable to feed their large families, it became necessary to bring in a significant workforce from Spain, Portugal, and Italy. It was in this dynamic environment that the Hôtel des Barrages forged its name and identity, a testament to an epic story that shaped the region.
